Negative calorie foods are foods, that make the body burn more calories to process them than they actually contain.  In most “negative calorie” foods it is dificult for the body to break down.  In turn
this difficulty in absorbing or processing the calories makes it entirely less likely that these calories will turn into fat.  This in some people’s minds give them a distinct advantage in weight loss.
Everyone’s body is different and burns calories at a different rate.

The negative calorie diet works on the premise that some of these supposed foods contain extra vitamins and minerals that help speed up production of enzymes in high enough quantities to break down
the calories in the food and additional calories.  The common food associated with this phenom are grapefruit, pinnaple, watermelon, asparagus, and papaya.  All of these are high in fiber and nutrients.
Critics of this diet feel that it is not practical but more theory based.  They also say there is no scientific proof to back it up.  Propontents of the diet say it promote intake of healthy foods high in nutrients
and requires little effort.  Either way the key to healthy weight loss is slow and steady; eat right and exercise often.
