Some manufacturers claim that supplements in liquid form are absorbed more easily than pills. So is there any truth to that idea? It's very hard to prove either way, but there are some guidelines to help you with your choice. Vitamins such as vitamin B or C are generally not much better as a liquid than they are in pill form, since these nutrients are absorbed just fine either way. Minerals such as iron, calcium or zinc may be different, as those are harder on the digestive system and less readily absorbed in the body.

Especially iron comes in different forms, and some of the natural liquid versions are considered better than the plain iron that you find in most pills. The reason is that a mineral bound to a biological compound is often more familiar to the body than it is on its own. Several types of iron supplements based on vegetable and plant juices exist, and as a bonus these may contain other important nutrients. Trying one of these products can definitely be worth it if you are having trouble with conventional iron supplements.
